Mission Statement
Our mission at St. Peter's United Church of Christ is to celebrate God's love. As disciples of Jesus Christ, we respond to the needs of our congregation, community, and the world through worship, education, fellowship, and service to all.

If You are new to the Kiel Community, we welcome you to St. Peter's and invite you to worship with us. Our Ministry of Christian Eduction is a community service. Our Sunday School (for children in Pre-Kindergarten through 6th grade) is held at 8:15 a.m. from September through May, and we invite you to enroll your child(ren). Confirmation Class is held on Wednesday evenings at 6 P.M. If you do not belong to a church, we invite you to consider making St. Peter's United Church of Christ your church. - The Membership Ministry is asking that each member fill out a Membership Form in order to keep our church records up-to-date. The information will be kept confidential. You may fill it out the form online by clicking here.

Celebration Sunday - A celebration of our past, present, and abundant possibilities in the life of St. Peter’s was held each Sunday beginning October 9 and culminated on Sunday, November 13, with a celebration meal (off-site). Click here for more information and to see videos.

Heaven's Call will be in worship with us on Sunday, February 26. They are a gospel singing group from Illinois,
whose sole purpose is to try to bring people to Jesus Christ. This is an exciting group with beautiful harmonies and good music. It's going to be awesome to see what God has in store for them at St. Peter’s.

Bluegrass Gospel Concert featuring Red Star Express - Saturday, March 3, 7 p.m. – Red Star makes its annual return to our Sanctuary for a rousing evening of inspirational bluegrass, featuring fast paced bluegrass rhythms and tight harmonies. The band features three members from Kiel including Marilyn Stenske, Steve Nothem, and St. Peter's U.C.C. member Mike Mathes. Tickets are $10 in advance and $12 at the door.

Jeff Pockat is a Celtic harp (Gaelic harp) musician and composer. His music is performed on the Ancient Wire Strung Celtic Harp. These are traditional and original pieces that soothe the mind, soul, body, and spirit. Jeff has shared in our worship in the past, and will do so again on Sunday, March 18.

Monroe Crossing in Concert - Sunday, April 29, 1:30 p.m. – The top bluegrass band from the upper midwest comes to St. Peter's U.C.C. to share their bluegrass and Gospel melodies. A former bluegrass band of the year from Minnesota, Monroe Crossing has toured internationally, and has recorded nine different CD's in its tenure. Fiddler/vocalist Lisa Fuglie is one of the best in the business! Tickets are $12 in advance and $15 at the door. Check them out at www.monroecrossing.com.

The author is anonymous and writes on "Being a Christian":

I'm part of the fellowship of the unashamed. I have stepped over the line. The decision has been made. I'm a disciple of Jesus Christ. I won't look back, let up, slow down, back away, or be still. My past is redeemed, my present makes sense, my future is secure.

I'm finished and done with low living, sight walking, small planning, smooth knees, colorless dreams, tamed visions, mundane talking, cheap living, and dwarfed goals. I no longer need preeminence, prosperity, position, promotions, applause, or popularity. I don't have to be right, first, tops, recognized, praised, regarded, or rewarded. I now live by faith, lean on His presence, walk by patience, lift by prayer, and labor by power.

My face is set, my gait is fast, my goal is heaven, my road is narrow, my way rough, my companions few, my Guide reliable, my mission clear. I cannot be bought, deluded, or delayed. I will not flinch in the face of sacrifice, hesitate in the presence of the adversary, negotiate at the table of the enemy, or meander in the maze of mediocrity. I won't give up, shut up, let up, until I have stayed up, stored up, prayed up, paid up, preached up for the cause of Christ.

I am a disciple of Jesus. I must go till He comes, give till I drop, preach till all know, and work till He stops me. And when He comes for His own, He will have no problem recognizing me—my banner will be clear!
