The Christmas Promise
by Donna VanLiere
Christianbook.com Review
I thoroughly enjoyed this story. I found it's theme of second chances to be an encouragement & inspiration. I also appreciated the main character's "normalcy": not a perfect saint, not disreputable, but a flexible person open to correction & change.... Reviewed by Maggie (Greenville, SC), October 25, 2008

Mary’s First Christmas
by Walter Wagerin Jr., Illustrated by Timothy Ladwig
Review from christianbook.com
I bought this book ... as a Christmas story for my second grade class at school. Each year the children are fascinated by the beautiful art work and the way the author shows Jesus as a boy growing up like one of them. They also enjoy seeing the story in a new way told by a mother - like theirs - who loves her son very much. -Reviewed by Ellen Kuebler (Cincinnati, Ohio), December 15, 2007
